NGC 5086 is a magnitude +11.7 double star located in the constellation Centaurus. In the sky it can be found roughly between the galaxies NGC 5091 / NGC 5090 and NGC 5082.
The double star was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 7th April 1837.
