Confirmed: The magnitude 13.4 type Ia supernova, 2011ae, was discovered by S. Howerton and the Catalina Real-Time Transient Survey on the 12th February, 2011, in the galaxy MCG-3-30-19 (UGCA 254) in the constellation Corvus. The supernova is located 4.9" west and 8.4" north from the center of the galaxy.

A possible magnitude 15.3 supernova was discovered by S. Howerton and the Catalina Real-Time Transient Survey on the 12th February, 2011, in the galaxy MCG-3-30-19 (UGCA 254) in the constellation Corvus. The supernova is located 5" west and 8" north from the center of the galaxy. As yet the type is unknown.
