The inaugural public open house and night-sky viewing takes place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, weather permitting, at the Murillo Family Observatory located on Badger Hill, on the north side of campus. Visitors can tour the observation deck, look through telescopes, and speak with members of the Cal State physics faculty and students. Parking is $5 but observatory admission is free. Read more
Work crews used a huge crane to gently place two large domes on the $3 million Murillo Family Observatory on Badger Hill, behind the campus. When the project is completed in the spring, the two domes will each house a telescope: one for daylight use and the other for night use. Read more
