A total solar eclipse will take place on November 13-14, 2012, with a magnitude of 1.0500. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth's view of the Sun.
For this eclipse totality will be visible from northern Australia and the southern Pacific Ocean.

Solar Eclipse Marathon
Plans to hold a marathon in north Queensland to coincide with a solar eclipse in November are "foolhardy" and a health hazard, doctors say.
Organisers expect the world's first Solar Eclipse Marathon to draw 2000 competitors from across the globe to Port Douglas in November 2012.
The marathon is timed to start as the sun emerges from behind the moon at 6.42am. Experienced runners would be expected to complete the track by 9am, but inexperienced marathon runners might not cross the finish line until after midday.
