On 2014 Mar 07 UT, the 200 km diameter asteroid (9) Metis will occult a 7.9 mag star in the constellation Libra for observers along a path across Middle East, Europe. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 3.2 mag to 11.1 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 24.5 seconds. Read more
