The IAU has approved the name Boudewijnbuch for the asteroid 1971 FB  after Boudewijn Büch (1948 - 2002)  a Dutch writer, poet and television presenter.

Schrijver, verzamelaar en wereldreiziger Boudewijn Büch leeft voort in het heelal. Tijdens de 8e Internationale Boudewijn Büch Dag zondag in Amsterdam is bekendgemaakt dat een planetoïde is vernoemd naar de in 2002 overleden kenner van de dodo, Goethe en de Rolling Stones.

Asteroid Boudewijnbuch orbits at a distance of 274 to 446 million kilometres away from the Sun, in the space between the planets Mars and Jupiter. The diameter of the asteroid is estimated to be 4 kilometres.
