Comet P/2001 YX127 (LINEAR) was first discovered by the LINEAR monitoring telescope on the 17th December, 2001, and catalogued as 2001 YX127. The comet was recovered by J. Scotti (Spacewatch II) on the 18th October, 2009. The comet had last been observed in May 2004. The orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 23rd August, 2011, at a distance of 3.43 AU from the Sun, and a 8.51 year orbital period.
