Type IID Meteorite
This is the first time such a meteorite is found in Antarctica.
Here, the surface has been polished in order to reveal its metal structure.

The IID irons often contain abundant inclusions of nickel iron phosphate (schreibersite), and contain high amounts of gallium and germanium, and also trace elements of  iridium, tungsten or gold. This would indicate that they formed within the core of a large asteroid.
Cut and polished slices often show Widmanstatten Patterns.
