The discovery of a new comet, C/2009 F4 (McNaught), was announced by Rob Mc Naught (Siding Spring Survey) on the 19th March, 2009.
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 31st December, 2011 at a distance of approximately 5.4 AU from the Sun.
