Comet P/2008 Y3 (McNaught) was discovered on the 31st December, 2008, by Rob H. McNaught (Siding Spring Survey).
The preliminary orbital elements for the comet  indicate a perihelion passage on the 8th November, 2009 at a distance of approximately 1.9 AU from the Sun.
This new comet now brings the total number of  comet discoveries by Rob McNaught to 45.
