On July 29, 2008, A. Boattini (MT. Lemmon Survey) announced the discovery of a new comet, which was confirmed by R. Holmes (Astronomical Research Observatory, Charleston). The preliminary orbital elements of the comet C/2008 O3 (Boattini) indicate a perihelion passage on June 1, 2008, at a distance from 2.5 AU from the Sun.
