MIT groups see sun darken
Two MIT Alumni Association groups led by MIT professors were rewarded with clear skies - just barely - for the total eclipse of the sun on July 22, possibly the most-watched eclipse in history. The eclipse path crossed much of Asia and the western Pacific, and the period of totality, when the sun's disk was completely obscured by the moon, was the longest of the 21st century.

Total solar eclipse viewed in Bangladesh
The long-awaited total solar eclipse was observed Wednesday morning in northwestern Bangladesh that lasted for little more than three minutes.
Despite the cloudy weather, tens of thousands of astronomy enthusiasts gathered in the South Asian country's northwestern Panchagarh district, about 440 km from here, observed the greatest celestial spectacle of the century.

Partial Solar Eclipse in Shenzhen
On July 22th, the longest total solar eclipse in 500 years occurred as expected. Although Shenzhen was lack of opportunity to have the total solar eclipse, the astronomy fans passions were not affected by that. Tens of thousands of people gathered just for enjoying this feast.
At about 8:00 am, when journalist came to the Municipal Weather Bureau located in Zhuzilin, Futiain district, the experts of the Municipal Climate Observatory of China had set up two telescopes and relevant persons were adjusting the equipments, waiting for the appearance of the partial solar eclipse.

This video is taken at the abandoned airstrip at Begusarai, Barauni district of Bihar , India. This camp was organised by Kolkata Astronomy Centre. The group had 46 members out of which ii members were from Delhi Public School Newtown Kolkata. Local people also joined the camp.

People in several parts of Assam cursed the clouds this morning - despite longing for the truant rain - as the dark blobs waltzed lazily across the sun and poured cold water on what would otherwise have been a celestial treat after 955 years in the Brahmaputra valley.
Guwahati, Dhubri and Dhemaji were among the few lucky centres with a clear sky above that afforded a grand spectacle, a diamond ring included.

NASA has released new pictures of the Earth showing the vast extent of Wednesday's spectacular solar eclipse.
The longest solar eclipse of the century cast a wide shadow for several minutes over Asia and the Pacific Ocean, luring millions outside to watch the spectacle.

Thick monsoon clouds denied dozens of Goans of all ages a glimpse of the solar eclipse on Wednesday morning.

"Several viewers, including students, gathered at the public astronomical observatory in Panaji were disappointed due to heavy rains. During the totality of the eclipse, three planets Mercury, Venus and Mars were in full view" - Association of Friends of Astronomy (AFA) president Percival Noronha.
