The Complete Work of Charles Darwin Online (or Darwin Online) began in 2002 to assemble in one scholarly website all of Darwin's published writings and unpublished papers.

The site contains over 72,000 pages of searchable text and 179,000 electronic images. It contains at least one exemplar of all known Darwin publications, reproduced to the highest scholarly standards, both as searchable text and electronic images of the originals. Darwin Online is the largest and most widely used Darwin resource ever created. More copies of Darwins works have been downloaded from Darwin Online than were published in Darwins lifetime or in the whole of the 19th century.

Thanks to him, we see ourselves as part of nature, instead of separate from it and superior to it. If it weren't for him, we would not be concerned about the way we have, in our arrogant past, ravaged the small planet on which we live.

Darwin's specimens go on display
Two mockingbirds, which are said to have helped Charles Darwin develop his theory on evolution, are to go on public display for the first time.
The specimens, gathered by Darwin from the Galapagos, are said to be the "catalyst" for his transmutation theory - how one species changes into another.

A spokesman for the Anglican Church says it should admit it wronged Charles Darwin, whose theory of evolution is still considered anti-Christian in some circles, even as it's become a cornerstone of science.
