Iran has test fired tactical surface-to-sea missiles during Iranian military exercises over the weekend.
Iran's army launched the new, Iranian-built equipment in the south of the country, in the Kashan desert, about 150 miles southeast of Tehran, during military exercises, Tactical surface-to-surface Iranian-made Saegheh (Saegheh means lightning in Farsi.) missiles, with a range of 80-250 km, were tested on Sunday. Surface-to-sea missiles developed by Iranian scientists were also tested on Sunday. Iran's military test-fired a series of missiles during military exercises in the Persian Gulf in March and April, including a missile that can use multiple warheads to hit several targets simultaneously. The Islamic Republic is concerned about the U.S. military presence in neighbouring Iraq and Afghanistan.
