George Takei has gone where no famous man (but two plenty famous women) has gone before, tying the knot with his partner of 21 years, Brad Altman, Sunday night in Los Angeles in front of 200 of their closest pals, including fellow Trekkers Leonard Nimoy, Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols.

After years in development limbo, the "Trek"-themed massively multiplayer online game will engage.
That's according to game developer Cryptic Studios Inc., which recently announced it had secured the rights to develop and publish "Star Trek Online" from CBS Consumer Products after now-defunct Perpetual Entertainment set the besieged project to kill.

"Yesterday's Enterprise" co-writer Eric A. Stillwell sent to TrekWeb his comments on the plot of the new Star Trek movie, regarding the speculation and controversy that the Star Trek movie may contain elements from "The City on the Edge of Forever" and similarities to to his TNG episode, "Yesterday's Enterprise".

Little-known actor Chris Pine has been chosen to play the young Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie.
Lord of the Rings actor Karl Urban will play Leonard "Bones" McCoy, the Starship Enterprise's medical officer.

Castings for Star Trek movie
The Hollywood Reporter posted the latest Star Trek film casting.
Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg will play as Montgomery Scott and   John Cho  will play Lt. Hikaru Sulu.
Already cast are Zoe Saldana as Uhura and Anton Yelchin as a young Chekov, the Russian-born navigator, as well as Zachary Quinto as a young Spock. Leonard Nimoy, who originated the role of Spock, is on board as well. Chris Pine is in talks to play the young Kirk.

Thanks to insomnia, I have gone where only the most dedicated fans of Star Trek--the Original Series have gone before. It was 3 A.M. and I switched on the TV to somnambulantly wander with my remote through the hazy media netherworld of half hour infomercials, advertisement-pocked B horror flicks and tedious reruns of the Andy Griffith Show. Finally, I found safe harbour in the visage of Mr. Spock.

Leonard Nimoy will  put play Spock again  in the next Star Trek movie, due out Christmas of next year.

"This is really going to be a great movie. And I don't say things like that lightly" - Leonard Nimoy, at Comic-Con.
