A nine-year-old blogger has raised £63,000 for charity after a council overturned its ban on her taking photos of her school meals.
Martha Payne, from Argyll, has also recorded almost five million page views on her NeverSeconds blog.

Newspapers still have headlines, of course, but they don't seem to strive for greatness or to risk flopping anymore, because editors know that when the stories arrive on the Web, even the best headlines will be changed to something dull but utilitarian. That's because, on the Web, headlines aren't designed to catch readers' eyes. They are designed for "search engine optimisation," meaning that readers who are looking for information about something will find the story, giving the newspaper a coveted "eyeball." Putting well-known names in headlines is considered shrewd, even if creativity suffers.

Readers willing to pay for news in print but not online

Readers are still prepared to pay for newspapers in print, because of trust and quality content, but this willingness will not translate to online subscriptions, a new survey suggests.
The YouGov SixthSense report, which is based on an online survey of 2,160 UK adults, suggests that 60 per cent of UK adults are willing to pay for a "good newspaper".

Flattr is a micropayments  system, launched publicly in March 2010.
Flattr is a project started by Peter Sunde and Linus Olsson. Users will be able to pay a small monthly amount and then click buttons on sites to share out the money they paid in among those sites, sort of like an Internet tip jar.

How to Disable the "Read more: http://xyz.com/" When Copy Pasting Content From Websites

For the past few days, I am seeing an annoying link appear next to the text content I copy and paste while writing a blog. Being a blogger, I often copy text like references and quotes because they are to be presented in their original form. However, many popular blogs in the blogosphere have signed up for a service called Tynt which is totally tainting the image of these blogs.

The Times and The Sunday Times will start charging for their websites from June, it was confirmed today. News International, the newspapers' parent company, announced that readers will be offered a day's use for £1, or £2 for a week's subscription. Readers who have a seven-day subscription to the print editions will not be charged extra for access to the websites. International pricing has been set at $2/ 1.5 euros a day or $4/ 3 euros for a week.
