Due to the sensitive nature of the satellite, JAXA did not disclose the exact size, weight, or time it separated from the rocket. The agency also did not offer the usual live launch broadcast. However, about a half-hour after launch JAXA reported that the rocket had successfully placed the satellite in orbit
The launch of the rocket was initially scheduled for Sunday, but was postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions.
The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency has launched the intelligence- gathering satellite from the Tanegashima Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 11 September.
The H-2A No 10 rocket lifted off from Japan's space centre at 13:35 local time (04:35 GMT). According to officials, the satellite separated successfully from the rocket.
