Bad weather is likely to keep the Marshall Space Flight Centre-developed Ares I-X test rocket grounded Tuesday, but NASA is hopeful clouds and lightning will blow away for a next-day launch, space agency managers said.
NASA has a four-hour window on Tuesday and Wednesday - 7 to 11 a.m. Central Time - to launch Ares I-X on its two-minute test flight.

NASA Sets Ares I-X Prelaunch Events and Countdown Details
News conferences, events and operating hours for the news centre at NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida are set for the upcoming Ares I-X flight test. The rocket is targeted to lift off at 8 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The launch will be carried live on NASA Television and streamed on the agency's Web site.

NASA started a final push Tuesday toward its long-anticipated Ares I-X test flight after moving the world's tallest rocket to its Kennedy Space Centre launch pad.
Standing 327-feet tall -- or 15 stories taller than the space shuttle -- the Ares I-X emerged from the Vehicle Assembly Building bathed in blinding floodlights.

NASA has rescheduled the rollout of the Ares I-X rocket to Launch Pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida to the 20th October, 2009.
The first motion of the Ares I-X out of Kennedy's Vehicle Assembly Building is targeted for 4:01 GMT (12:01 a.m. EDT).
