NGC 1047 (also MCG -1-7-32 and PGC 10132) is a magnitude +13.5 lenticular galaxy located 62 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. 
It has a diameter of about 30,000 light-years. 
The galaxies NGC 1035, NGC 1042 and NGC 1052 are in the same sky region and probably form a group.

The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 10th November 1885.
