DArk Matter Particle Explorer

DAMPE (DArk Matter Particle Explore) is one of the five satellite missions in the framework of the Strategic Pioneer Research Program in Space Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), with a launch date planned to be in December 2015 into a sun-synchronous orbit at the altitude of 500 km.

China launches country's first dark matter satellite 

China on Thursday sent into space the country's first Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) Satellite in a fresh search for smoking-gun signals of the invisible material that scientists say makes up most of the universe's mass.
