Nigel Richard Wood, (1949 July 21 York) British engineer Payload Specialist 2 astronaut, aboard the cancelled Space Shuttle mission STS-61-H in June 1986.
Selected April 1985 to fly on the British Skynet Program. Joined the publicity team of the Royal Air Force. Then stationed at Ministry of Defence. Later chief test pilot, Boscombe Down.
Colonel (Group Captain) RAF; Bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering from the University of Bristol, 1971; pilot of the Royal Air Force; test pilot; was selected in 1984 for the British Skynet program; assigned for STS-61H; since he joined the press team of the Royal Air Force; then stationed at ministry of Defence; currently chief test pilot in Boscombe Down.
