Asteroid 23187 (2000 PN9) will fly past Earth on March 6th, 2006, passing 0.0203396 AU (7.9 lunar distances or 3,037,793 km) from the Earth. The asteroid was discovered by the LINEAR search program on August 8, 2000. Radar and optical observations in 2001 showed that 2000 PN9 is a lumpy spheroid with a diameter of about 1.7 km and a rotation period of 2.5325 hours. It has an orbital period of 915.446 days.
