Alpha Equulei (also HD 202448, HR 8131, HIP 104987, SAO 126662 and Kitalpha) is a magnitude +3.92 spectroscopic binary star located 186 light-years away in the constellation Equuleus.
Alpha Equulei is a yellow subgiant star of spectral type G0III with an effective temperature of around 5500 - 6000 K, and a mass of 2.72 solar masses.
The companion star, separation of 0.01 seconds of arc, is a 1.9 solar mass white dwarf star that has an orbital period of only 98.8 days.
