A Floating Potential Probe that was launched on 1st December 2000, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station LC-39 on the Floating Potential Probe Experiment mission, is predicted to re-enter the Earths atmosphere on the 25th February 2006 @ @ 04:44 UTC ± 10 hours



The Floating Potential Probe (FPP) is designed specifically to monitor the international space station structure's electrical potential with respect to its local plasma environment and assess the `grounding` effectiveness of the stations Plasma Contactor Unit (PCU) in the low-Earth orbit (LEO) environment.
