NGC 1461 (also MCG -3-10-47 and PGC 13881) is a magnitude +11.8 lenticular galaxy located 68 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 6th October 1785.
