NGC 5132 (also IRAS 13219+1421, MCG 2-34-14, UGC 8428 and PGC 46541) is a magnitude +13.2 barred spiral galaxy located 336 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 8th April 1866.
