NGC 4031 (also MCG 5-28-75 and PGC 37855) is a magnitude +14.4 spiral galaxy located 361 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 6th April 1864.
