NGC 5006 (also ESO 576-6, MCG -3-34-11 and PGC 45806) is a magnitude +12.4 lenticular galaxy located 127 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/19 refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 31st March 1881.
