NGC 2458 (also MCG 10-12-16, GWT 287.9 or PGC 22220) is a magnitude +14.5 elliptical galaxy located 636 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy was discovered by Bindon Blood Stoney, assistant astronomer to William Parsons, using a using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr Castle on the 20th February 1851.
