NGC 2617 (also MCG -1-22-27 and PGC 24141) is a magnitude +13.8 Seyfert spiral galaxy located 199 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflecting telescope at the Marseille Observatory on the 12th February 1885.
