NGC 2404 is a magnitude +8.2 open cluster and HII emission nebula in the northern spiral arm of NGC 2403 located about 8 million light-years away in the constellation Camelopardalis.
The cluster was discovered by French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan using a 30.48 cm (12 inch) refracting telescope at the Paris Observatory on the 2nd February 1886.
