Professor Mick Aston, a former resident academic on Channel 4's Time Team, has died at the age of 66. He appeared on the show, which sees experts carry out archaeological digs, from its inception in 1994 until 2011. The archaeologist also taught at a number of universities across the UK. Read more
Professor Michael Antony 'Mick' Aston, FSA (1 July 1946 - 24 June 2013) was a prominent English archaeologist. As an academic, he taught at a number of universities across the United Kingdom, and helped popularise the discipline amongst the British public by appearing as the resident academic on the Channel 4 television series Time Team from 1994 to 2011. Through the series, Aston became iconic to the viewing public for his trademark colourful jumpers and flowing, untidy hairstyle.
