A former Soviet satellite that burned up in the earth's atmosphere is thought to have been the bright burning light spotted by thousands across the East Coast last night.

Burning meteorite steaks across the sky

There have been multiple reports of a bright burning light in the sky on the Sunshine Coast this evening.
Witnesses reported seeing an amazingly bright white ball falling to earth with a tail on it that quickly turned orange in the night sky just after 6pm.
