Meteor of 1926 September 6

Authors: F. J. W. Whipple.

My original object in asking for these observations was to derive information with regard to the velocity of sound in the upper atmosphere. Owing mainly to the difficulty of determining the height of the meteor with sufficient precision, this object has not been achieved, and the principal value of the observations appears to lie in the information with regard to the areas in which there were audible detonations.
