Hans-Emil Lau (April 16, 1879 - October 16, 1918) was a Danish astronomer. He is most famous for his work on Mars and Jupiter. Other areas he worked on were star parallax, the measuring of variable stars, the colour of stars, and the observation of comets, sunspots, and the ring of Saturn. He died prematurely during the worldwide 1918 flu pandemic. A crater on Mars was named in his honour. Read more
