The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has approved new names for six features on Mars.
Camichel for a 65.26-km-wide Martian crater located at 2.26°, 308.39°. The feature was named in honour of the French astronomer Henri Camichel (1907-2003).
Dukhan for a 34.04-km-wide Martian crater located at 7.76°, 320.86°. The feature was named in honour of a town in Qatar.
Kolonga for a 41.09-km-wide Martian crater located at 8.32°, 305.06°. The feature was named in honour of a town in the Kingdom of Tonga.
Liberta for a 25.1-km-wide Martian crater located at 35.23°, 304.55°. The feature was named in honour of a town in Antigua and Barbuda.
Okavango Valles for a 285.12-km-long Martian valley located at 38.1°, 8.97°. The feature was named in honour of a river in Botswana.
Sibut for a 22.18-km-wide Martian crater located at 9.68°, 310.65°. The feature was named in honour of a town in Central African Republic.
