Fredric Brown (October 29, 1906 - March 11, 1972) was an American science fiction and mystery writer. He was born in Cincinnati. One of his most famous short stories, "Arena", was used as the basis for the episode of the same name in the original series of Star Trek. It was also the basis of a 1964 episode entitled "Fun and Games" of The Outer Limits, probably the Space: 1999 episode "The Rules of Luton", and possibly the Blake's 7 episode "Duel". Read more
