Comet P/2012 US27 (Siding Spring) was discovered by the Siding Spring Survey on the 17th October, 2012. The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 8th February, 2013, at a distance of 1.8 AU from the Sun, and an orbital period of 11.8 years.
