The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has approved a new name for a valley on the rim of Gale crater.

Peace Vallis for a 35.24-km-diameter Martian valley located at -4.21°S, 137.23°E.
The feature was named after a river in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada.
