SpaceX capsule returns with safe landing in Pacific

A space capsule has returned to Earth, ending the first commercially contracted re-supply mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
The capsule was sent by the California-based company SpaceX, the first of 12 missions it will perform for US space agency Nasa.
It landed in the Pacific Ocean west of Mexico at 12:22 local time (19:22 GMT).

SpaceX Dragon Unberthed, Released and Returning

The SpaceX Dragon cargo craft that delivered about a half-ton of supplies and hardware to the International Space Station is now on its ways back to Earth with more than 13-hundred pounds of scientific and other materials. Dragon is expected to splashdown in the Pacific the same day, Oct. 28.

NASA TV to Air Live Coverage of Dragon Space Station Departure Sunday

NASA Television will provide live coverage of the release and departure of SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft from the International Space Station on Sunday, Oct. 28. Coverage will begin at 11:00 UT and conclude approximately three hours later after Dragon has left the vicinity of the orbiting laboratory.

Did One of Falcon 9's Engines Explode? Video Shows Debris


This video shows something serious happening to one of the Falcon 9's engines. Engine 1 seems to have suffered a "rapid unscheduled dis-assembly" - i.e., it blew up. The other 8 engines burned longer than planned to put Dragon into orbit. The anomaly occurred at 1 minute and 20 seconds into the flight.
