India today successfully carried out the maiden test firing of the over 290km-range submarine-launched version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the Bay of Bengal - becoming the first country in the world to have this capability.

Supersonic missile BrahMos test-fired from Odisha

India today test-fired BrahMos supersonic cruise missile as part of a user trial by the Army from a test range at Chandipur off Odisha coast.
The missile, which has a flight range of up to 290 km, is capable of carrying a conventional warhead of 300 kg.
