July 5 date set for EchoStar launch

Arianespace's next Ariane 5 flight (VA207) is scheduled to lift off on Thursday, July 5 with the EchoStar XVII high-throughput relay platform for Hughes Network Systems, and the MSG-3 meteorological spacecraft for EUMETSAT (the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites).

Liftoff of the Ariane 5 ECA launcher is now set for the night of Thursday 5 July, as early as possible in the following launch window:

From 06:36 pm to 07:05 pm in Kourou, on Thursday 5 July,

From 05:36 pm to 06:05 pm in Washington DC, on Thursday 5 July,

From 09:36 pm to 10:05 pm UTC, on Thursday 5 July,

From 11:36 pm to 12:05 am in Paris and Darmstadt, on the night of Thursday 5 to Friday 6 July.

 Launch date of MSG-3 reset to 5 July 2012

Arianespace has announced that the launch date of the MSG-3 satellite from the European Spaceport in Kourou, originally foreseen for 19 June, has been reset to the evening of the 5 July 2012.
The delay is due to additional checks that were made on the EchoStar 17 telecommunication satellite, which is to be launched together with MSG-3 on the Ariane 5 ECA launcher.
