Preparing to build ESAs Jupiter mission

Airbus Defence & Space in France has been selected as the prime industrial contractor for ESAs Juice mission to Jupiter and its icy moons.
Juice (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer) was selected in May 2012 as the first Large-class mission within ESAs Cosmic Vision 201525 programme. The spacecraft should be launched in 2022 and arrive in the Jovian system in 2030.

SwRI ultraviolet instrument selected for ESA's JUICE mission to Jupiter's icy moons

An ultraviolet spectrograph designed by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has been selected for flight on the European Space Agency's Jupiter Icy Moon Explorer (JUICE). NASA is funding development of the instrument, which will observe ultraviolet emissions from the Jovian system.

Esa to decide on Juice mission to Jupiter

Delegates to the European Space Agency are expected to approve a billion-euro mission to Jupiter and its icy moons when they meet in Paris on Wednesday.
The probe, called Juice, would be built in time for a launch in 2022, although it would be a further eight years before it reached the Jovian system.

 Juice mission leads billion-euro space race

A proposal to study Jupiter's icy moons is now the front runner for selection as a billion-euro space mission.
However, formal selection of the mission will have to wait until a European space committee meets to discuss the contenders in May.
The Juice mission would launch in 2022 and would help assess whether Jupiter's moons could support life.
