Comet P/2012 F5 (GIBBS) was discovered on the 22nd March, 2012, by A. R. Gibbs (Mount Lemmon Survey). The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage was on the 15th September, 2010, at a distance of 1.88 AU from the Sun, and a period of 5.32 years.
