Nasa Morpheus lander crashes during moon mission test

A small Nasa lander being tested for missions to the moon and other destinations beyond Earth has crashed during a trial run at the Kennedy Space Center.
There were no injuries after the prototype, known as Morpheus, burst into flames near the runway formerly used by Nasa's space shuttles.

NASA's Morpheus lander explodes during test at KSC

NASA's project Morpheus lander has exploded during a free-flight test Thursday at the Kennedy Space Centre.
During the test, the capsule tipped over and crashed, caught fire and exploded around 12:40 p.m.

NASA Invites Media To View The Morpheus Lander At Kennedy

Media representatives are invited to view NASA's Morpheus lander at the agency's Kennedy Space Centre at 3 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Aug. 1. The vehicle arrived at Kennedy Friday to begin a series of tests during the next three months.

NASAs robotic Project Morpheus aims for the Moon

Project Morpheus is constructing a lunar landing craft that uses an innovative fuel which combines liquid oxygen with methane, rather than the far more dangerous liquid hydrogen used in the past. The craft underwent a successful test firing of the latest version of its engine earlier this week.
