The ruins of the Cistercian abbey of Santa Maria di Corazzo, outside Castagna, CZ, Calabria, Italy. The abbey was destroyed in the massive earthquake of 1783.

The 1783 Calabrian earthquakes were a sequence of five strong earthquakes that hit the region of Calabria in southern Italy (then part of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies), the first two of which produced significant tsunamis.
