As for what the conditions are like to hunt for any meteorites there i have no idea...

Ed ~ Update: Just for the record, my original solution would have placed any scatterfield just north of Tyler, Tx.

Ed ~ It's worth noting i used an angle of 85° where as others have calculated the path at ~75°; this translates to an error of over 40 km for the location of the scatterfield.

There was a big fireball in texas last week. Some people estimated the mass at bus sized. The meteor had a shallow entry angle, a low speed and triggered a window rattling sonic boom that was heard and felt by 100s of people. These are all positive signs that suggest a meteorite dropping fireball. The meteor was captured on 3 all sky cameras: one in Coleman TX, one in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and one in Mayhill NM.

But here is a map of my estimated trajectories based on seismograph readings. The red line is the approximate trajectory from Mike Hankey using the two nearest all sky cameras. The yellow line is the estimate from the seismographs. The blue circles are radius of distance from seismographs that are calculated from the time the sonic boom arrived and are match to an estimated altitude at that part of flight, and then a simple estimation of speed of sound given the atmosphere on that day. (The trajectory doesn't actual fall perfectly tangent to the circles due to the shape of the shockwave, but its fairly close)
