New information has come in, and the number of known habitable planet candidates has dropped by 17 to only 28. Worse, the 4 of the 5 candidates most like Earth completely disappeared from the potentially-habitable list. Muirhead et al. (2012) reanalysed the stellar characteristics of 84 cool red planet-candidate host stars based on new spectra. They found that these radii of 83 of these stars are significantly smaller than reported in the initial Kepler Input Catalogue. Read more
