The Rio Negro meteorite contains a small fraction of olivine and pyroxene grains which have extremely high track density (6x106 - 2.5x i0~ tracks/cm~, a factor of 10 to 100 higher than the track density observed in a large number of grains thaken from close by locations

The Rio Negro (L4) meteorite fell in Parana, Brazil, on the 21st September, 1934.
A total mass of 1.310 kg was recovered.
