TWITTER banter between a Cardiff University astronomer and Irish comic Dara O Briain sparked a major online search for stars. Thousands of Twitter followers of the Irish TV presenter were treated to a lesson in stargazing after Dr Edward Gomez offered him the remote use of the Faulkes robotic telescope which is based on the Hawaiian island of Maui. With the support of the Institute for Astronomy in Hawaii, Cardiff University lecturer Dr Gomez provided the Youre Fired host with an hour of observing time from his computer in London, capturing breath- taking images of outer space hundreds of light years away.
